1. What is your role at Max?

I am the VM Manager which means I get to be creative with the windows and in store displays and make sure our presentation is of the highest quality.  I am also very lucky that I get to travel the country and visit each of our stores.

2. What were the stepping stones for your career?

I started off at New Zealand department store which was a great place to start working in Retail.  I met some of my best friends there, which made it such a hard place to leave.  I then worked overseas for John Lewis, which felt like home for me in the UK as it had the same department store feel, but was more dynamic and creative.  When I came back home I worked for and Australian fashion retailer.  I have great memories from all of the companies I have worked for and have learnt so much along the way.  I wouldn’t change a thing.

3. What item could you not leave the house without?

My handbag.

4. What’s in your handbag?

My whole life!  Haha :)  I do have a very big handbag and so many necessary items in there that it would be hard to list them all.  Seriously when I put my handbag on my passenger seat a light flashes at me to put the seat belt on as it thinks there is a person sitting there.

5. Favourite cocktail?

Hmmmmm maybe Sangria.  Reminds me of my travels through Europe.

6. I wish I knew how to…

Kite Surf – looks like so much fun!

7. Best place for brunch on the weekend?

I will keep it local and say Sweetie which is in New Windsor.  They have the best food, cutest little café and it’s just so handy for us to walk to.  My only complaint is that they are too small and it’s hard to get a table most weekends!

8. Are you a cat or a dog person?

Definitely a dog person!  We have two of the best pups ever that we adore to bits!  Charlie ‘Charleston’ Pickford Lye and Nellie M’Nellie.  We did get a kitten this year though – took a while for us to adjust, but now Oscie fits in…. he thinks he is one of the dogs.  He definitely gives Charlie more love and affection than he gives us, but that’s ok – we are just happy that they all get along :).

9. What is your go-to outfit?

Anything Black really.  True Kiwi girl – I think you can never go wrong with black.

10. If you could give one piece of advice to your teenage self, what would it be?

Not to be so self conscious – life is too short to worry about what people think of you.

11. Morning or Night person?

Morning – definitely!!!

12. What is your earliest memory of Max?

Probably following my mum around while she shopped in Max in the old Henderson Square (now called West City).  I think I started shopping with Max for the odd thing when I was 16, now my wardrobe is BURSTING with Max clothes :)
