Fabric guide

We design our ranges with high-quality, sustainable and naturally-derived fibres wherever possible – we’re not perfect, but we’re committed to leaving the lightest footprint we possibly can, starting with the fabrics we use.

We encourage you to invest in pieces that are made to last and to follow the care instructions of the individual garment as it’s the best and easiest way to look after the pieces in your wardrobe.

Natural fibres

We use a range of natural fibres in our collections from organic cotton, luxe silk to 100% linen. Natural fibres are a kinder alternative to the planet and to your wardrobe.

Cotton / Organic Cotton

Natural / Synthetic

Natural

Made from

Cotton boll (ball) which is the fluffy casing around the seed on the cotton plant

Fibre Properties

Soft, breathable

Care / Tips

We have a mix of cotton and organic cotton in our ranges. We try our best to use the latter as it’s better for the environment and better for you too. Our organic cotton is certified, no modified seeds and no nasty chemicals are used in the growing process.

Always wash your cotton garments in cold water to avoid shrinkage and dry in shade to avoid colour fade.

Linen

Natural / Synthetic

Natural

Made from

From the linen plant, which is part of the flax family. It’s one of the oldest known fabrics. The whole plant is harvested and almost the entire plant is used for fabric or food and oil

Fibre Properties

Soft, breathable, fast drying

Care / Tips

We love linen as it’s a sustainable, breathable fabric. It uses minimal water when grown and little to no pesticides compared to other fabrics. Lay flat in shade to avoid colour change when drying, use a cool iron with a press cloth or use a steamer on light.

Eco Denim

Natural / Synthetic

Natural fibres blended with both regenerated fibres and recycled synthetics

Made from

Made from organic cotton and/or cotton bases

Fibre Properties

Durable, breathable, timeless

Care / Tips

We’ve been redeveloping our denim range since 2019 working closely with our supplier to monitor each step in the construction of the range. Reducing water usage per piece by 60%, our denim also uses reusable stones for design treatments, meaning no stone waste is deposited in waterways. A large proportion of our denim programme uses organic cotton. In selected denim styles we’ve blended natural-based fibres like lyocell or recycled fibres for stretch and movement.

Silk

Natural / Synthetic

Natural

A fibre spun from the silkworm cocoon

Fibre Properties

Luxe, soft and breathable

Care / Tips

Silk is a luxe natural fibre, its a sustainable material and biodegradable too. Silk is a delicate fabric and deserves a little extra attention, so please follow the care instructions for the individual garment. We recommend not washing your silk garments too frequently, instead use a fabric freshener. Please follow the care instructions for the individual garment as some of our silk garments are dry clean only and others you can hand launder if the latter always use a gentle detergent.
